MINING & RESOURCES: WESTERN AUSTRALIA
SINO IRON PROJECT

Once constructed, the Sino Iron project, 100km south west of Karratha in the Pilbara region, will be Australia's largest magnetite mining and processing operation.

The project has over two billion tons of identified magnetite iron ore resources and when fully operational will export 27.6 million tons of a mix of magnetite concentrate and pellets each year.  The project life is currently estimated at 25 years.

With this in mind, SFL Piletech is pleased to announce the award of the screw piling works on the Sino Iron Ore Red River village.

SFL Piletech has been engaged to supply and install of over five thousand two metre screw piles for accommodation and amenities buildings. Our screw piles will act as tie downs and foundations and are a positive choice with their minimal environmental footprint.

Currently we have two excavators operating on site undertaking pre-drilling and pile installation with a five experienced site crew.

We are working closely with VDM Consulting Engineers on this project and works are expected to be completed in March 2010.  Once complete the camp will house more than 1700 fly in/ fly out workers.

For further information on how SFL can assist in your mining and resources project please contact Richard Douglas on 0458 044 820.
